Interesting world, missed opertuneties
4 stars
First of all the world building in this book is fantastic, the world is interesting and well thought out, and the history of it seems interesting as well. The characters on the other hands could have used a bit more work, as all of them are quite one-dimensional. Raeve is an interesting character and there's definitively more to unpack in regards to her backstory. The story is decent enough however it's stops kinda at the halfway point, a second book is planned and is in the work but be ready to wait for it if you are the kind of person that wants to ready a story to the end once you start. The book touches a few darker themes a couple of times, they all made sense story wise to me so I'm fine with it others might not be.

If you are after good world building and are fine with a lighter story then this is the book for you, however if you prefer a more nitti gritty story you might be better of looking else where.

Kihrin and friends final adventure
5 stars
The final book of the series doesn't disappoint, it closes the different story beats and still manages to have a few fun surprises left for us. That Jenn found place for even more world building and character development in this book is kinda astonishing. And I found the ending pretty satisfactory if not a bit convoluted.
All in all a good end to the series and it's a series worth reading in my mind.

Alright norsk fantasy
4 stars

The Gentleman Bastards continued adventures
5 stars
The fallout of Red Seas Under Red Skies, greatly influences the premise behind this book, as this book is set about two months after the last one. In my mind is this a strength of the narrative as we for once know the same things as the main characters. The story is interesting and it contains a few huge revelations about some of the characters. The character development is great and the world feels like lived in real place even though we again have new locations. The one big downside of the book is that it ends on a cliffhanger and that it is eleven year since this book was released.
If you liked any of the previous books read it, and I think most people that like fantasy will enjoy what we currently have of the Gentleman Bastards. My suggestion is to start at the first book however …
