First of all the world building in this book is fantastic, the world is interesting and well thought out, and the history of it seems interesting as well. The characters on the other hands could have used a bit more work, as all of them are quite one-dimensional. Raeve is an interesting character and there's definitively more to unpack in regards to her backstory. The story is decent enough however it's stops kinda at the halfway point, a second book is planned and is in the work but be ready to wait for it if you are the kind of person that wants to ready a story to the end once you start. The book touches a few darker themes a couple of times, they all made sense story wise to me so I'm fine with it others might not be.

If you are after good world building and are fine with a lighter story then this is the book for you, however if you prefer a more nitti gritty story you might be better of looking else where.
