I feel like this could and should have been two different books. Vineland, to me, wasn’t a strong enough setting to tie together the characters across the different time settings; and the themes to link the two time frames felt tenuous and a little preachy. Kingsolvers refusal to name trump when clearly talking about trump seemed pointless. A good read in the last quarter but took a long time to get there.
