A good debut novel

We follow Lukan Gardova on his trip to figure out what his father last message to him means. The story is interesting enough and it definitely has a few twists and turns along the way. The world building seems to be really good, however I wish that we had gotten to experience the city of Saphrona a bit more in the book. The history of the world is interesting and I really hope that we get to explore it even further in the future books in the series. There is not that much character growth in this book, however considering the time frame of the story it's not necessary something to hold against the book.

If you like books like The Lies of Locke Lamora then you'll probably enjoy this book as well. If you're more of a big epic fantasy kind of person then it might not be the …
