Iconic

I like classics, but I was not expecting to enjoy this quite as much as I did. Erik, Raoul, and Christine prove fascinating characters and their dynamic is indescribably fascinating. Erik especially is a character who piqued my interest - all of his shenanigans and backstory. He put me somewhat in mind of Hannibal Lecter from NBC's Hannibal (maybe why I attached to him so quickly...). Once more I prove a fan of this style of realism, where the logical explanation is full of twists and turns and sleight of hand, and perhaps you never truly know the answer to certain things. This book is, on top of all that, an absolute hoot. I was cackling the whole way through.
