As a legion of knights surround their stronghold, led by an angry concussed elf—which definitely isn't in any way Cameron's fault—the sorcerer's poisonous ambitions draw ever closer to fruition. Cameron is quite invested in not dying, but he finds he's also invested in Merulo. And sometimes, supporting the sorcerer you care about means taking an interest in their hobbies. Even if their hobby is trying to kill God.

Even if it might get you killed, too.

I took this book camping with me and finished it far quicker than I was expecting. It was the kind of thing that I simply had to read another page of. It is hilarious and I love the worldbuilding - especially what we learn later on. The humour is fairly wry (great thing imo) and it does get really sweet.

I will say that it is obvious that this is Stother's debut - some plot is rather conveniently facilitated and the ending veers a little too close to Deus Ex Machina for my tastes. The plot doesn't seem to build as much as you'd expect (though I was still rapt). I would have preferred if there were more sympathetic non-male characters, but then again, it is fantasy yaoi. I would definitely recommend this if you want a quick read. It puts me in mind, at least a little, of the Discworld.
