Apollo reviewed Exodus: The Archimedes Engine by Peter F. Hamilton (Exodus, #1)
An Overlong, Sometimes Fun Adventure
3 stars
I was unsure what to expect from this novel set in the universe of Wizards of the Coast's new sci fi PC and tabletop games, but I was disappointed to not be drawn in. The setting seems to owe a lot to Dune and space opera tropes, but doesn't inject enough novelty to feel special. The story dragged at times and, though there were some interesting characters, it all felt a bit flat and slow.
